Fly Fishing

The Rivers

Bull River Adventures Lodge is located on the Bull River with premium access to world class fly fishing. Fisherman can experience a self-guided fishing trip on the Bull River and its tributaries.

Our lodge is located in the middle stretch of the Bull River offering over 50km of fishing south and north of the lodge not including several km of fishing in the Bull River Tributaries. The Bull River is separated by the Aberfeldie Dam creating the lower bull and upper bull. Our lodge is located within the upper stretch and primarily is walk and wade access or horse access.

The upper stretch of the river holds cutthroat and smaller bull trout. In addition to the main river anglers can enjoy great walk and wades on tributaries which are rarely fished.

The lower Bull River tends to have larger cutthroat and a healthy bull trout run later in the season in addition to the occasional rainbow trout. This section of river can be accessed by walk and wade, horse, or drift boat. The Bull River, a spectacular crystal-clear freestone river with great pools and runs to fish along the way and little angler pressure, creating an exceptional fly-fishing experience in the Rocky Mountains of Southern British Columbia.

If you are a guest of Bull River Adventures and would like to fish other rivers in the area our staff will provide you with information on the whereabouts to fish the elk river, the Kootenay River or St. Mary’s River.
